Canterbury Mountain Radio Service Inc.
We require more people with the monitoring and taking of calls during the day.
This is one of the very interesting and important part off mountain safety that the 'Canterbury Mountain Radio Service' provides. For the large number field parties that take our field sets into the south island back country. Remember if the base is switched off or not listening having a field radio telephone are of no help to the field parties.
If you have a background interest with the South Island back country, and also Stewart Island, and are willing to listen, and also take calls during the day, by using our extensive remotely controlled base network. We have set up the base network technology for our operators including our internet radio station technology, no radio equipment is required, requiring only stranded computer, and software with the internet.
This could be an ideal opportunity for a person that is confined to home etc., but still interested in communicating with the people in the mountains with our field sets.
A person that lives in Christchurch is preferred, but it can apply to people out of the Christchurch area and will require to have a phone line with and the internet.
If you require more information on this opportunity please do not hesitate in talking to us.
You may like to contact Paul White on 021365618 or the CMRS office on 03 379 7905 at Christchurch any time.
